I bought this product myself and this review is based on my own experience.
I bought the Glowco CalmCarry around four months ago, quite honestly, out of desperation.
My son’s brain just doesn’t seem to stop at bedtime.
Once he is asleep, he sleeps brilliantly and will quite happily sleep for 10 hours or more.
Getting him to actually fall asleep was the problem.
Even when he was absolutely shattered, he could spend two hours tossing and turning.
That usually meant getting out of bed countless times, finding something to play with and what felt like several hundred increasingly frustrated conversations with me going back upstairs asking him to please go to sleep.
Bedtime had become exhausting for everyone.
I wasn’t convinced it would work
I came across the Glowco CalmCarry while looking for something that might make bedtime easier.
I read through the reviews, including the negative ones, because at around £45 it wasn’t something I wanted to buy without thinking about it.
My husband thought I was completely out of my mind when I told him what I was considering buying.
But eventually I decided to take the chance.
The first night surprised me
On the first night we tried it, my son was asleep within about five minutes.
I genuinely thought it was a fluke.
After the bedtime battles we’d been having, there was no way I was going to judge it on one night.
But four months later, for my son, the difference has been remarkable.
He now generally falls asleep within around 10 minutes.
I want to be really clear that this is simply our experience — every child is different — but for us it has worked far better than I expected.
Fixing bedtime has affected more than bedtime
One thing I hadn’t really appreciated was how much anxiety I had started to associate with bedtime.
I knew what was coming.
He would go upstairs, I’d wait for him to come back down, then we’d have the same conversation again and again until eventually he fell asleep.
That feeling of impending doom every evening had become normal.
Since we’ve been using the CalmCarry, bedtime is completely different.
It sounds dramatic for one relatively small part of the day, but removing that nightly battle has made evenings much calmer for all of us.
He doesn’t need it all night
My son only uses it while he is falling asleep.
He doesn’t need it throughout the night.
When I go to bed later, I take it away from him.
That routine works well for us.
The biggest negative: the strap
There is one definite negative.
The strap broke within about four days.
For something costing approximately £45, I was disappointed by that.
Fortunately, it hasn’t stopped us being able to use it, so it hasn’t affected the benefit we’ve had from the product.
But I do think the strap should have lasted considerably longer.
Four months later
We’ve now been using it for around four months.
The novelty certainly hasn’t worn off, and we’re still using it every night.
That’s probably the biggest test for me with products like this.
It’s easy to think something is amazing during the first few days.
Four months later, my son is still generally asleep within around 10 minutes and bedtime is still considerably calmer than it was before.
For us, that’s made the £45 feel worthwhile.
Who I think it might suit
Based purely on our experience, I think it may be worth researching for parents who are struggling with long, drawn-out bedtimes and are looking for another non-medication option to try.
I wouldn’t assume that because it worked for my son it will work for every child.
I’d also recommend checking the manufacturer’s age, usage and safety guidance before using it with a child.

My verdict
When I bought the Glowco CalmCarry, I wasn’t particularly confident it was going to work.
I was simply at the point where I was willing to try something different.
My husband thought I’d lost the plot spending £45 on it.
Four months later, I’m very glad I did.
For my son, it has turned a bedtime that could take two hours into one where he is generally asleep within around 10 minutes.
The strap breaking so quickly was disappointing, particularly at this price, and I certainly wouldn’t say every child will have the same experience.
But for our family, the difference it has made has been far bigger than I expected.
Would I buy it again? Yes.
